Our Story

I'm Melanie, a Christian multidisciplinary creative and creative director of Melanie Barnard Designs. I also have a background in fashion and fitness, which through my testimony, inspired me to create a Christian-oriented face fitness programme and a modest capsule clothing line for women. This connection is exactly why I love designing accessories and home décor that bring joy to everyday life.

Born from a new beginning

Melanie Barnard Designs was born from a new beginning. 

Following the passing of my father, I found myself having to start over and rebuild my life from scratch. Although this is not the first time I have weathered a storm in life, with God's help, this has by far been the most challenging. 

Come what may, I hold onto the memory of when my father was still alive and how he taught me that whenever things get tough, I should always remember that "The joy of the Lord is my strength, en die liefde van Jesus oorwin altyd alles." Through this walk of healing, and as I continue to rebuild, I hope that my work can resonate with others and bring them encouragement, serving as a daily reminder that a fresh start lies just beyond every horizon.

My design process is entirely hands-on, with every piece handcrafted by me. This ensures each product meets the highest standards of quality and practicality, while exuding a joyful measure of playful creativity.
